FORS Gold Accreditation

FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is an accreditation that is designed to improve a company’s fleet activity throughout the UK. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. FORS has been developed to suit different organisation types and structures across all industry sectors. There are a number of routes to accreditation available depending on whether you want to achieve FORS across some or all of your operating centres.

Brandon Hire Station have achieved Gold accreditation across the whole of our commercial fleet. FORS aims to drive up standards within fleet operations and demonstrate that our business is achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection. To achieve accreditation, 20% of our branches need to be audited over a 12 month period by our team of independent Internal Audit Fleet Accredited (IAFA) auditors and then verified by FORS Compliance. An annual silver and gold application then needs to be completed by our Compliance team, where policies, procedures and progression data evidence is submitted and audited by FORS.

Who is FORS for? The accreditation is available to any company that uses a fleet of vehicles such as vans, Lorries, mini-buses and even coaches. FORS helps to assure customers that you operate to standards that far exceed the legal minimum. Additionally the accreditation scheme gives a company access to a range of exclusive benefits.

FORS accreditation has 3 basic aims:

• To recognise and reward excellence
• Raise standards
• Offer 3 levels of accreditation – bronze, silver and gold

Bronze – good operators demonstrating lawfulness and best practice - this is the entry level of accreditation

Silver – quality operators committing to improving safety, environmental impact and efficiency – this is the intermediate level of accreditation

Gold – exceptional operators providing evidence of improvements in safety, environmental impact and efficiency – this is the highest level of accreditation

Put simply – FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme that is an effective way to demonstrate to our clients we are a high-performing operator who seeks to instil industry-leading best practice.
